About Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola, or Coke, is a cola soft drink manufactured by the Coca-Cola Company. Coca-Cola was first sold on May 8, 1886 by John Stith Pemberton in Atlanta, Georgia. John Pemberton, an American pharmacist developed an early version of a beverage and first sold at his Jacob's Pharmacy that later was adapted to make Coca-Cola. The Coca-Cola logo was created by John Pemberton's bookkeeper, Frank Mason Robinson. He came up with the name and chose the logo's distinctive cursive script. The sucessful marketing tactics led Coca-Cola to its dominance of the global soft-drink market throughout the 20th and 21st century. More than 2.2 billion servings of Coca-Cola are enjoyed each day.
