About Keigo

Japanese popular illustrator Keigo (Keigo Kawajiri), since 2012, has opened an Instagram account where he spends his leisure time drawing. Using anthropomorphization, his characters tell stories through each illustration. The protagonists can be humans, animals, or everyday objects, resulting in a collection of absurd and humorous artwork. For example, what would an alligator do if it wanted to kiss? How would a giraffe make a phone call? What happens when an apple tries to squeeze out a pimple? By depicting familiar everyday situations from completely unexpected perspectives, Keigo's illustrations elicit laughter. His artwork rarely includes captions, and the brushstrokes are not meticulous, with simple compositions. Not every illustration may be immediately understood, but adding an unexpected charm to his work. Each time Keigo shares a new piece, it invites viewers to join the challenge of "finding the punchline."
